Studio Diary - Alter Ego

After recording the drums we directly jumped into recording the bass. The small timeslot really pushes us to the limits and craziness is reaching out for us. To let you see and hear how we suffer we created the first Arilyn-Video-Making-Of which you can download here:

It's time again for the Arilyn boys to get back in to the studio to begin working on the forthcoming record. After recording the last album Virtual reality in different studios, the boys now will record A Secret Wish completely in their own Strange Sound Studio. Now the time has come to be ready for blood, sweat, tears and beer!

After building up the drum set in the big recording room, the mics were positioned and everything was ready for the start. The boys made several test recordings and were very satisfied with the sound. The band recorded some basic tracks so Christof can play with a headset to the music.

The mood is great and everybody has a lot of fun!

The mixing room looks like a technic room for mainframes. Laptops, cables and blinking lights everywhere. Mosi teached Chris about basic studio know-how: If it doesn't blink, it's broken!.

Kalle and Chris have nothing to do at the moment apart from beer drinking and yapping. The drums for 7 songs are already recorded out of 10, which means that the boys are in time. The recording sessions have to finished before christmas.

This time, not every songs to record is already finished. There are a couple of songs where the boys will change things or complete the lyrics. The studio is in an old bunker without windows, so sometimes the boys only know if it's daytimne or not when they leave the studio. Stay tuned, there are more news to come.
